After a short transatlantic delay, the Porsche 718 Boxster Style edition of 2024 finally landed on the American coasts, ready to pursue the purists one last time before the electrified transformation. However, some reports suggest that Porsche may still be able to offer gasoline engines in the next generation of Boxster series.
The 2024 Porsche 718 Boxster Styler edition brings the classic open-top Roadster car hours that have been tensioning exciting drivers for generations. Although his ‘modest’ 300-HP 2-liter flat-four does not match Jaguar’s F-Type Sonore V8 (or his strength), it is doing well with go-kart-like agility and Porsche’s PDK’s PDK Dual link transmission that is second to Nobody. Fortunately, a manual with six gears is also on the cards for those who prefer to row only rowing them.

What does “Style Edition” bring to the table?
Porsche has draped this swan number in exclusive aesthetic flourishing, starting with available striking Ruby Star Neo Paint, a lively tribute to the 964 Carrera RS RS Red 916 of the 1990s., Ensures that the car stands out, even in Monaco – traffic. The fabric soft top now wears a secret “box star” script, while 20-inch spyder wheels (in glossy black or white) and exhaust points with high shine add a touch of threat.
Inside, the stiffness in the limited run status with enlightened door loses sills, contrast stitching and relief Porsche tops on the headrests, a subtle memory, this is not just a drop-top. Analog purists will appreciate the preservation of physical controls and analogue meters, but Porsche has not shot modern comfort: heated seats, a heated steering wheel and Bose Surround Sound are standard.
In terms of price it starts at $ 83,295. Although dedicated Porsche lover is likely to be willing to pay for the timeless sensations associated with the brand, it is a somewhat steep price given the lack of any performance improvements.
Driven for precision
Hidden behind the seats is a 2.0-liter flat-four turbo compressor that growls a modest 300 hp and 269 LB-FT torque. Although the headline figures may seem fairly modest, Porsche’s 7 gears PDK Dual coupling ensures that the rear wheels are sufficiently powered to sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds.
Choose the link with six gears, and that time increases somewhat to 5.1 seconds, a sacrifice that we would like to pay for the satisfactory click by gears. Stay on and the 718 Boxster goes to a top speed of 171 MPH.

Despite the ‘Rookie’ figures, the Boxster, however, finds the goal in a different type of performance, one that is measured in smiling per hour, not miles per hour. So, while the optional Pasme (Porsche Active Suspension Management) ensures that the box star remains planted by hairpins, the ‘Porsche Torque Vectoring’ sharpen the precision around corners.
There is of course great responsibility with great strength and the 718 Boxster does not disappoint. With huge 350 mm rotors that moving the wheels, the brake performance continues to fade, so that you stop as confidently as you go.
A classic Porsche affair
Inside the Porsche keeps its weapons and delivers a hut that feels refreshingly analogue in an ever -digital world. Although the focus is on the driver, the cabin is not without modern facilities. These include the Porsche infotainment system, powered by a seven-inch touchscreen that offers controls for Apple CarPlay (no Android Auto, however) and SAT-NAV, but falls short of the type of seamless integration and interface in newer systems.
Porsches are known for their ergonomics, and the Boxster makes that hype. The steering wheel feels perfectly customized and weighted, while the pedals are ideal for the heel-toe that you secretly require.
While he is ‘man and machine’ on the subject, it is also worth mentioning the Body-Hugging 14-Way driven sports seats that keep you cozy during sharp turns and relax on long cruises.
Interior materials are, not surprising, first -class. So the use of brushed aluminum and colored contrast stitching reinforces the air of exclusivity without being exaggerated.

A stylish shipping
Externally, the 718 Boxster style fluently speaks ‘Porsche’ but with a louder, brutal dialect. So the basic design – smooth turns, muscular squat and the unmistakable Porsche profile – remains largely unchanged, while the style -upgrades give it a more pronounced personality.
In the front, the Boxster retains its low -hanging nose and horizontally stretched headlights, which give him an infallible, sharp eyes precision.
By moving the flanks, the design feels clean and athletic, with tight body lines and sculpted sides that stream seamlessly from front to back. Around the back, the twin standing pipes give the Boxster a more targeted attitude, which broadcasts a flat-four Sonate that enjoyed the top with the top, of course.
Last thoughts
While Porsche is shifting to electrification, the 718 Boxster Style Edition serves as a nostalgic nod to its analogue heritage. Although not the fastest or most tech-forward, the 718 Boxster reminds us why Porsche excels in creating ‘the driver’s car’. Call the Old-School, but it is a former school for beautifully done.
