Kyrie Irving To replace injured Mavericks teammate Anthony Davis on NBA All-Star Roster

Dallas Mavericks Guard Kyrie Irving will replace injured teammate Anthony Davis on the All-Star Roster.

The NBA announced the news on Monday. The decision was made by Commissioner Adam Silver.

Davis was initially selected as an All-Star reserve as a member of the Lakers prior to his trade in the Mavericks for Luka Dončić. Davis returned from an abdominal voltage for his Mavericks debut on Saturday, only to suffer an adductor tribe that is expected to set him aside for a few weeks.

The All-Star selection is the ninth for Irving, which this season has an average of 24.1 points, 4.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game. He is the second replacement player who is mentioned on Monday. Earlier, the NBA announced that Trae Young will replace wounded Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Irving plays All-Star format on Team Shaq under the first year with four teams playing in a mini tournament on Sunday. Shaquille O’Neal initially selected Davis in his team as one of the four captains next to Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Candace Parker.

Young will replace Antetokounmpo on Team Chuck.

Team Candace

Team Candace will consist of the winning team of the Rising Stars 4 team Tournament played on All-Star Saturday, with Rookies, Sophomores and G League stand outs. The schedules for those four teams were selected on 4 February.

The NBA All-Star Weekend Tips from Friday with the Rising Stars Tournament (9 p.m. et). The Dunk and 3-Point competitions and skills competition will take place on Saturday from 8 p.m. et, and the Drie-Game All-Star Tournament will hand over on Sunday evening from 8:20 am et.

The All-Star Weekend is organized by the Golden State Warriors in the Chase Center in San Francisco.
