Masters of the Universe throws Deadpool star as the sorceress, Fisto Actor, also announced

The live promotion Masters of the Universe Film has added two new cast members.

Travis Knight is working on a live-action adjustment from Masters of the Universe for Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel. Nicholas Galitzine is cast in the role of He-Man in the film, which is based on the cartoon series and toy line from the eighties.

Who joined the cast of Masters of the Universe?

Amazon MGM Studios has announced that Morena Baccarin was tapped to play the sorceress in Masters of the Universe, while Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson is cast as Malcolm/Fisto, of whom the latter is converted by Schurk.

Baccarin is best known for playing Vanessa in Marvel’s Deadpool franchise. She also played Adria in Stargate SG-1 and in Firefly in Firefly, while she was also in television shows such as Homeland, The Mentalist, The Flash, Gotham, a series of unfortunate events and more.

Jóhannesson played in episodes of Game of Thrones, Vikings: Valhalla, Succession and The Witcher. His filmography consists of 2017’s Atomic Blonde, 2018’s The Sisters Brothers, 2020’s Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, Captain America from 2025: Brave New World and more.

The cast of Masters of the Universe also includes Camila Mendes such as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-AT-Arms, Sam C. Wilson Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Geitman And Kojo Attah as a tri-knock.

Plot details are currently under wraps. The scenario comes from Chris Butler, while earlier concepts were worked by David Callaham, Aaron No and Adam No. Knight’s Filmography includes Kubo 2016 and the two Strongs, 2018 Bumblebee EN 2025’s Wildwood.

Masters of the Universe currently has a release date of 5 June 2026.
