KYIV (Reuters) – Russia’s early morning rocket attack on Kiev on Kyiv killed at least one citizen and led to various fires in the city, said Ukrainian officers.
“Russia carried out a rocket strike on Kiev and the Kyiv region,” said Andriy Yermak, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s Staff Chef, in a position on the Telegram reports -app.
“This is how (Vladimir) wants the war to end.”
US President Donald Trump, who sworn to end the conflict in Ukraine, said on the weekend that he had contact with Kyiv and Putin and “made progress” in the negotiations to end the war that Russia was on Ukraine almost three years ago launched.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko of Kyiv said on Telegram that at least one person was killed as a result of the attack and the emergency services were called to at least four districts of the Ukrainian capital.
The military administration said that fires outbreak in various residential and non-residential buildings.
Air striking warnings were only imposed at the start of the attack around 0227 GMT. It was not immediately clear which missiles were used, but the late launch of air attack warnings suggests that they were difficult to detect by Radar.
Witnesses of Reuters reported to hear a series of explosions in what sounded like anti -aircraft systems in operation.
